Pathfinders started out as small group for teenage girls and has moved into something deeper.  It is still a small group but it has become a brand.  A ministry to illuminate the paths that God has chosen for women of all ages.  We live in a world where we care more about what society says than we do about what God says.  We are not walking down the righteous path.  Proverbs 4:18 says: "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." Society's teachings change with every generation, from clothes to make-up fads; but God's Word is the same.  He doesn't change.

This ministry exists to show young women and older women what it means to be a WOMAN OF GOD.

Proverbs 3:6, Proverbs 4:18, Proverbs 5:6, Proverbs 31:10-31; Titus 2:1-10

Pathfinders was born....well....unexpectedly.  Don and I started attending Solid Rock Church in November 2013.  A member of the church had a small group for college and career age girls called Pathfinders.  Early in 2014, the leader of this group asked if I would help her by leading the Bible Studies.  By late 2014, the leader felt it was time to disband the college and career group and asked if I wanted to take over the group.  Of course I did but I had a new vision for the group.  The college and career group already had another small group so I wasn't harming them.  I felt like Pathfinders should be a small group for teenage girls.  I used to be in youth ministry so this ministry was no stranger to me.  I re-branded Pathfinders and we launched the new small group in February 2015.

While driving in my car one night in August 2015, I began to hear messages from God.  Sermons that weren't for teenage girls and some that were. I began to feel confused and depressed, if I'm being honest.  Where was my outlet?  sure I had the small group but this felt bigger than that.   On August 31, 2015, I was driving home and praying (people on the interstate think I'm crazy).  I was praying, well, complaining a little too, and God spoke two words into me..."BLOG" and "PODCAST".  "What?!  No way".  Those were my thoughts.  "I can't do that.  That's silly.  Who will read that.  I am not a good writer".  But I kept hearing it over and over again.  I told my husband that I had something silly to tell him.  Honestly I was fully expecting him to die laughing (I pictured the weasels from Who Framed Roger Rabbit after they laughed themselves to death and their ghost popped out of their bodies with a tulip in hand).  But instead he said that was a great idea! Really?  I was almost hoping he would talk me out of it, but he didn't.  He encouraged me.  On September 2, 2015 at our Wednesday night Elevate service (first Wednesday), guest speaker Greg Devries,  spoke into my life that I was about to do something new that I had never done before and God was going to give me clear vision.  Well OK.  I'll do it.  And God hasn't let me down.  He has been with me every step.  Leading me down the right paths to begin this journey.  He has brought people into my life that are prayer partners.  I'm so thankful to them.

"Have I not commanded you?  Be courageous.  Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

  • To see our young girls choose the path of the righteous by understanding what God expects of us (how to dress, who to become friends with, how to act, etc.) instead of listening to what society says.  #wiseorwild
  • To see our teen girls practice what it means to be a woman of God and what our roles are in the kingdom.
  • To see our women follow the righteous path of God and understand what it means to be a woman of God.
  • To teach our teens how to be a Godly wife.
  • To see wives be submissive as the Bible states and supportive of their husbands. (Proverbs 31)
  • To see our women rise up and become mentors to the younger girls. (Titus 2)
  • To change the stereotype of females.
  • To understand what a God ordained marriage looks like (roles in the marriage).
  • To bring the importance of prayer back into our lives.
  • To help all understand the power of praise and worship as weapons in warfare.
