My husband and I just celebrated on 14 year wedding anniversary on April 13, 2016. We decided to take a trip to Fort Payne, Alabama and do some hiking at Desoto State Park and Little River Canyon. And I might I say AMAZING! Breathe taking scenery, amazing waterfalls, and peaceful streams. We hiked 4 miles and took in all God had to offer. We stopped and prayed a few places. The peacefulness of some of the spots were perfect for reflections and prayer to it Creator. Some quiet time out is just what we both needed.
Sometimes in life we get so busy and don't slow down enough to enjoy each other. We over work. My day starts out getting ready and getting kids ready for day care and school. I drop the kids off and then I'm off to work. I work all day at my full time job then leave and work at home at my full time job. I cook, clean, bath, do homework, put to bed, write, pray, and try to spend time with my husband but somehow it always seems to fall short because I am tired and ready for bed because of my long day and I have to start in all over again in a few short hours.
We have to remember, though, how important it is to STOP! The Bible says "Be still and know that I am Lord" Psalm 46:10. God had to remind us to BE STILL and remember who HE is. We also need to stop and remember who our spouse is. They are the person GOD blessed us to do life with everyday. When we acknowledge their presence and STOP and be still and hug for more than 2 seconds we are honoring God.
So STOP and enjoy each other. Make a day where you can both take off work and spend the day together. Go spend some time in the woods together in the quiet and be still and know your husband.
