There are many ways to highlight your BIBLE when studying. You have your typical underlining a scripture or a word that stands out or even highlighting it. Some may even right comments in the margins to remember something.
Then there is the Bible Highlighting System. There are many versions of this floating around, but this is what I use (thanks to Terri Hall from her small group, Reflections). The only thing I added to her system was the brown for sin. I wanted to highlight scriptures that were warning me of sin.
This system makes you think deeper about the passage you are reading. It's not a simple Scripture. You have to decide if it should be highlighted or underlined or colored with the entire rainbow (as a lot of mine are). But it helps you understand what the Scripture is saying.
Go ahead a give it a try. Soon I will start a Bible study here for us to work this highlighting system. But in the meantime, please use this method at home while studying your Bible.
The best highlighters are the non-bleeding (not your normal Hi-Lighters or Sharpies highlighters). I use ACCU-Gel Highlighters for Bible highlighting. They can be purchased on Amazon (click picture below to purchase).
